ACTS – FESTIVAL FOR LYD- OG PERFORMANCEKUNST 2014

Kunne du tænke dig at være med til at skabe en fantastisk lyd- og performance festival i dejlige omgivelser sammen med dygtige kunstnere og museumsfolk? Vi søger frivillige til at hjælpe med under Museet for Samtidskunsts lyd- og performancefestival den 14. og 15. juni. Arbejdet består af forskellige opgaver, såsom at assistere performerne, tage imod billetter, sidde vagt ved kunstværker og performances, sælge mad og drikke til gæsterne mm. Museet sørger for mad og drikke, et kreativt miljø og godt humør!

Information om festivalen:

ACTS 2014
Et fremtidssolarie, en organisk fungus-transformation, performance lectures, lydvandringer og minioperaer. Oplev de nyeste tendenser inden for lyd- og performancekunsten, når Museet for Samtidskunst for tredje gang slår dørene op til et væld af eksperimenterende performance- og lydkunstværker med den internationale festival for performativ kunst, ACTS. Med festivalen ACTS rykker kunsten ud af museets faste udstillingsrum og bruger byens mange muligheder og offentlige rum som scene. Lørdag og søndag byder festivalen på spektakulære lydinstallationer og performances i museets små nicherum – ude og inde, og rundt i Roskildes bymidte. Lørdag aften foregår programmet på spillestedet Gimle, hvor stedets kælderrum, lounge og koncertsal danner scene for performance lectures, eksperimenterende lydopførelser m.m. Vi glæder os til at byde jer velkommen til denne tredje udgave af ACTS!

Performance program på Charlottenborg

Den 1. november 2013 var kulminationen på kurset ‘Kuratering af performativ kunst’, nemlig et 2 1/2 timers intensivt kunstprogram organiseret af en gruppe performance designere.

Programmet Show & Tell gav et indblik i den aktuelle performancekunst, og præsenterede et forskelligartet program af danske og internationale kunstnere indenfor performance-, lyd- og installationskunst.

Programmet præsenterede bl.a. værker der undersøger kroppens stadig mere
symbiotiske forhold til maskinen, en lecture-performance i grænselandet mellem historiefortælling, poesi og vidensformidling, en undersøgelse af indeksikalitet og iSociety, en arkitektonisk lytteoplevelse, et lydkunstværk genereret af publikum og et requiem ud over det sædvanlige.

De kunstneriske bidrag var iscenesat og orkestreret i forskellige rum på Charlottenborg således at publikum måtte bevæge sige fra rum til rum mellem hver performance.

Workshop: Animating a Performing Archive

Workshop at Museum of Contemporary Art, Roskilde

The workshop is a joint venture between Performance Design, Funen Art Academy, and Museet for samtidskunst. Students from these studies have first priority.

Factory of Found Clothes, Triumph of Fragility (Part Two of Trilogy), 2002

The workshop is held as part of re.act.feminism – a performing archive, which is an archive presenting feminist, gender-critical and queer performance art by 120 artists and artist collectives. The archive will be presented at Museum of Contemporary Art 16 June – 19 August 2012.

The aim of the workshop is to find ways of animating the archive through interventions in and presentations of material from the archive. We will experiment with actualization, re-enactment, embodiment, and other forms of engagement in, interpretation and presentation of selected material from the archive. We can consider an archive like this as a more or less dormant memory of artistic performative acts. Bringing works to life is not only an act of repetition and rememberance, it also means examining their (potential) meanings in our particular time and place. The workshop will hence research and bring to life works that the participants find relevant for our contemporary life and their own practices.

The workshop will take place within a theoretical horizon inspired by queer and performance theory where existing and conventional acts are seen as scripts to be performed but also critically examined, as every new performance is a chance for rethinking and change.

Programme (subject to change):
Wednesday 27th 3 – 8 PM: Introduction to the archive (Museum director Sanne Kofod) and participants, dinner in the garden (if the weather allows).
Thursday 28th 11 AM – 4 PM: Theoretical introduction to key concepts within performance theory and performativity (Mary Coble, Merete Jankowski, Judith Schwarzbart), continued research in the archive, discussion of formats of animation. 4pm: departure to Copenhagen. Mary Coble gives a public talk at Overgaden.
Friday 29th 11 AM – 5 PM: Rehearsals, production etc.
Saturday 30th 11 AM – 5 PM: Preparations, public presentations in the afternoon.
